I never thought about my boxers. Then I stopped dreading 2pm.
For years I bought the same three-pack of cotton boxers, wore them until the waistband gave up, and never once connected them to how uncomfortable my afternoons were. Then a mate talked me into switching the fabric. Here is what happened.

By mid-afternoon, I was done.
Desk in the morning, on my feet after lunch, gym a few times a week. Somewhere around 2pm the same thing happened every day: damp, clingy, that swampy feeling you cannot exactly sort out at work. I blamed the heat. I blamed sitting down all day.
What I never blamed was the one thing touching my skin for sixteen hours straight: plain cotton that soaks up sweat and then just holds it there.

A mate told me to try bamboo. I rolled my eyes.
It sounded like a gimmick. Underwear made of bamboo. But he would not shut up about it, so I ordered a pack mostly to prove him wrong.
Turns out there is an actual reason it works. Bamboo viscose is naturally breathable and wicks moisture instead of holding it, and there is a mesh panel built in exactly where the heat builds up. Air moves through instead of getting trapped. That is the whole trick.

The first day, I forgot I was wearing them.
That is honestly the best way I can put it. No damp patch, no readjusting, no 2pm dread. Just nothing. Cool and dry from the morning commute through to the evening. For something I had ignored my whole adult life, it was a stupidly big upgrade.
I did not expect underwear to be the thing I recommend to people now. Yet here we are.James, 39

Fresher at night than my old ones were by noon.
Bamboo is naturally odor-resistant, so even after a gym session and a full day they did not turn. And the waistband actually stays put: no ride-up, no bunching, no digging in.
Flat seams, a trim cut, invisible under trousers. It just behaves all day and then disappears, which is exactly what you want from a boxer.

So I binned the old drawer.
Every tired, stretched-out pair went in the bin. The 10-pack replaced the lot in one go: ten boxers in four colours, roughly two weeks between laundry days, one size choice for the whole set.
I have not thought about my boxers since, which is the whole point. That is the closest thing to a compliment I can give a pair of pants.
Different fabric, different day.
If your afternoons feel like mine used to, it is probably not the heat. Ten bamboo boxers, four colours, half price today.
